Join Fishtown Preservation for a presentation by Richard Munson about his new book, Tesla: Inventor of the Modern—a comprehensive biography of Nikola Tesla, the under-appreciated and farsighted mastermind largely overlooked by history. Tesla is the genius who invented the radio, robots, remote control, electric motors and for whom the electric car is named. He was a pioneer of alternating current—far ahead of his time, but his eccentric behavior repelled those who should have backed him. In the early 1900s, Tesla designed plans for cell phones, the Internet, and interstellar communications. His inventions transformed our world, his ideas have lived on to shape the modern economy, and his visions continue to inspire the great minds of today. Munson brings this fascinating figure to life in his book and at this live presentation.
“A lucid, expertly researched biography of the brilliant Nikola Tesla. (Readers) will absolutely enjoy (Munson’s) sympathetic, insightful portrait.†–Kirkus Review
