All proceeds from the Fishtown 5K go towards preserving historic Fishtown—the place, the stories and the Great Lakes fishing tradition. Join us in Fishtown, Leland, and be a joyful runner for Fishtown!

Event Details

The Fishtown 5K will be held in Leland on Saturday, July 19th at 9:00 a.m.

Starting and finishing in the heart of Fishtown, gradual climbs and graceful descents make our chip-timed 5K ideal for the serious runner or the whole family. Runners, walkers, strollers and leashed dogs are all welcome. Rain or shine. Click HERE to register.

Race features:

• Start to finish RFID Chip-timing (through Newton Timing & Race Services, of Davison)
• Corral signage to ensure the fastest runners are at the front
• Hydration stations throughout the course
• Post-race fuel
• Age categories in five-year age increments starting at: 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, 80+

• Fishtown 5K logo tee (T-shirt cutoff is June 19, 2025)
• Fishtown 5K logo sticker
• Commemorative race bib
• Chance to win race medals unique to Fishtown
  • Our special Fishtown 5K medals are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each age category.
• Overall Female and Male winners receive a unique Fishtown 5K award

T-shirt sizes include Youth S, M, L (select Adult S for Youth XL) and Adult S, M, L, XL and XXL. Don’t need a t-shirt? Choose to make an additional contribution to Fishtown Preservation by opting out.

How to Participate/Register

• Chose In Person or “Can’t Be Here” (see below)
• Cost
  • $35 per person February 1 – May 31 (+$7 shipping for “Can’t Be Here” registrants)
  • $40 per person June 1 – July 19 (+$7 shipping for “Can’t Be Here” registrants)

Deadlines

• June 19:  ** last day to register to guarantee a race t-shirt and logo sticker is included in your packet
• July 18 @ 6pm:  last moment to register online
• July 18:  Packet pickup for in-person registrants (see below for location and time)
• July 19:  In-person race day! Register by 8:30 a.m. to have your race chip–timed

**If you want to secure a race t-shirt and size you must register by this date. We will be ordering some additional t-shirts but they will be first-come first-serve.

Packet Pickup

• July 18:  for in-person registrants 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm in the Leland Library’s – Munnecke Room (203 E Cedar St. Leland, MI)
• July 19:  in Fishtown 7:30 am to 9:00 am
• If you missed the race, packets will be available at FPS office, Monday-Friday, after race day through the end of July.

Love the Fishtown 5K, but “Can’t Be Here”?

You can sign up for the Fishtown 5K and have a race packet mailed to you the week after the race. Provided you sign up before June 19, (or as long as supplies last) you’ll get a super cool Fishtown 5K t-shirt, race logo sticker and bib. Packets will be sent via US Mail, so please be certain to confirm your mailing address! A shipping cost of $7.00 will be added. Click HERE for “Can’t Be Here” registration.
