Giving Tuesday is a an international day of charitable giving at the beginning of the holiday season, that takes place on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. It is a movement created to unleash the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world. Fishtown’s Giving Tuesday Wish
On Giving Tuesday, December 1, 2020, for every dollar you give to Fishtown Preservation, an additional dollar will be donated through a matching gift by a Fishtown Donor — up to $10,000. That means the impact of your donation will be doubled! Our goal is to raise at least $20,000 on this day of giving, and hopefully, so much more. The continued high water has caused more extensive damage, with total costs nearing $3.5 million. FPS must still raise $1,105,000 to complete the work necessary to secure Fishtown’s infrastructure. The Village Cheese Shanty and the Morris Shanty have now been secured, but we still need to save four more shanties — including Carlson’s Fishery, the Otherside, the Ice House and Diversions – as well as deal with extensive drainage issues and all of the docks. The high water has exacerbated an already critical situation. We made great progress but have a long way to go. Please send this information to your friends and family, and share our Giving Tuesday posts on Facebook and Instagram. Fishtown needs your help! Fishtown needs your help!
